DUSHANBE, July 23, 2009, Asia-Plus — The 20th session of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper house of parliament), presided over by its head, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, considered and seconded a number of laws today.
The session considered 16 laws adopted by the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) in late May this year.
Members of the Majlisi Milli, in particular, considered amendments made to the country’s laws on weapons, holidays, constitutional court, as well as criminal code. MPs also considered changes and addenda made to the laws on the central bank, mutual insurance, National Guard, education, etc.
Members of the Majlisi Milli seconded the mentioned laws without any debates.
