OSCE office supports conducting drug abuse prevention in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, August 3, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The Drug Control Agency (DCA) will conduct drug abuse prevention actions in various regions of the country this month with support from the OSCE Office in Tajikistan, Asia-Plus has learned from Major Alisher Tashripov, the chief of the DCA legal drug circulation control and drug abuse prevention department.

According to him, the actions will be conducted in the framework of drug abuse prevention and information project that is being implemented in Khatlon and Sughd provinces as well as districts subordinate for the center.

“The actions start on August 6 and run through August,” said Tashripov, “The events will cover several districts in northern Tajikistan, eight districts in Khatlon province and districts of the Rasht Valley,” Tahsripov said, noting that members of propaganda teams, involved in the actions, include representatives from president’s office, DCA, relevant ministries and organizations as well as the public.
