DUSHANBE, August 4, 2009, Asia-Plus  — As of July 1, 2009, net profit of the Bonki Rushdi Tojikiston (Tajikistan Development Bank or TDB) has amounted to some 3.2 million somoni (equivalent to some 800,000 US dollars), which is 3.89 times more than of the same date of last year, according to TDB’s headquarters in Dushanbe.

The bank’s loan portfolio increased by nearly 26 million somoni in the year to July 1, 2009, reaching some 59 million somoni.

Over the first six months of this year, loans have reportedly been provided mostly for development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and auto crediting.  Besides, TDB has provided more than 10 million somoni in loans for development of the agrarian sector.

As of July 1, 2009, the volumes of deposits in Bonki Rushdi Tojikiston amounted to 2.4 million somoni and the bank’s assets amounted to some 103.8 million somoni.  TDB’s regulative capital has exceeded 63 million somoni to this date.

Tajikistan Development Bank was established in 2006 and its authorized capital now amounts to some 60 million somoni, which is 3.5 times more than in 2006.
