Exhibition of works by CIS artists and photographers opens in Moscow

DUSHANBE, August 20, 2009, Asia-Plus  — An international exhibition entitled “The National Gene Test: Citations” is going on in Moscow.

Staged by the Russian Artists’ Union under support of the International Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation (IFHC) in the framework of the program, On-Sixth Plus, the exhibition has brought together artists, photographers and filmmakers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

Opened on August 19, the exhibition runs through August 29.  According to the IFHC spokesman Aleksandr Kalugin, the main objective of the exhibition to reflect differences and formal features of national schools by example of documentaries, paintings and works of authorship put on display int the ongoing exhibition.

Photographers Ghayrat Usmonov and Jamshed Kholiqov as well as filmmaker Safarbek Soliyev are representing Tajikistan in the event.
