DUSHANBE, October 19, 2010, Asia-Plus — First course on risk analysis for officers from the Afghanistan and Tajikistan Customs Administrations from different regions of Afghanistan began at the OSCE Border Management Staff College in Dushanbe on October 18, according to the OSCE Office in Tajikistan.
During the five-day course, two experts from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance will work with 12 Afghan and five Tajik customs officials.
“The course will help seminar participants strengthen their skills in analyzing potential threats and developing procedures, and thus contribute to the improvement of their operational techniques and daily work,” said Alain Scolan, the Principal of the OSCE Border Management Staff College in Dushanbe.
The course is part of a two-year project “Strengthening the Customs Administration of Afghanistan” financed by the Republic of Austria.
