DUSHANBE, November 15, 2010, Asia-Plus — Kazakhstan is handing over special equipment and devices (totaling 30 items) used in corps of chemical defense, engineer and rear services to the Tajik armed forces in no-strings aid, information posted on Kazak Defense Ministry’s website today says.
The equipment and devices are reportedly being delivered from Almaty, Kazakhstan to the Tajik capital by transport aircraft IL-76 from November 12 to November 15.
An agreement on providing non-strings aid to the Tajik national army was signed during a meeting of the defense ministers of the two countries that took place in Dushanbe on November 10 on sidelines of the CIS defense ministers’ meeting, the Kazakh Defense Ministry press service said, noting that the agreement on military cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan was signed on December 16, 1999.
This aid is an important and reasonable action in the context of allied cooperation with Tajikistan and in terms of providing security in the Central Asian region, the Kazakh Defense Ministry press service said.
