DUSHANBE, January 28, 2011, Asia-Plus  — A 30-year-old unemployed man from Kulob was detained at the Dushanbe airport yesterday on suspicion of having been involved in drug smuggling, according to the Drug Control Agency (DCA) press service.

He was detained during inspection of passengers on the Dushanbe-Moscow flight.  He was going to travel to Moscow with drugs in his stomach.

The peddler had ingested 100 wraps of narcotics drug that tested positive for heroin weighing more than 500 grams, the source said.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug peddler and an investigation is under way.  The DCA officers have taken measure to detain his accomplices.
