DUSHANBE, January 31, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Crisis is getting deeper in Egypt because the leader of this country has not yet realized that it is time for him to resign from his post, Tajik political scientist Davlat Usmon said.

According to him, leaders of authoritarian and dictatorial regimes in the African Continent are sure that their policies are absolutely true.  “Such leaders are also not well aware of what is going on in their countries,” said the expert, “Their officials do not inform them of dissatisfaction among the population, and therefore, they believe that they are right and feel comfortable.  That is why crisis in these countries is getting deeper and people pour onto streets eventually in order to overthrow such leaders”  “Authoritarian leaders are incorrigible and they will always be faced with such problems.”

The expert stressed that leader of Tunisia and Egypt had promised a lot when they had come to power in their countries, but they have failed to redeem their promises.  “Religious and other forces existing in these countries have gradually gained strength and they today demonstrate their strength,” Usmon noted.

He considers that Western nations today are interested in political reforms in some countries.  “The West needs regimes that would be loyal to it,” said Usmon, “Whatever political parties come to power, they must be, first of all, loyal to the West.  New leaders of these countries must not pose threat to security of the West and Israel.”

“Arrival of Mohammed ElBaradei, who is known politician among Western countries, in Egypt means that the West wants to prevent forces that are not loyal to the West from coming to power,” the expert added.
