DUSHANBE, April 22, 2016, Asia-Plus – A 30-year-old woman from Khatlon’s Farkhor district, Nigina Mahmadaliyeva, has attempted to commit suicide by self-immolation.
According to the Interior Ministry’s website, Nigina Mahmadaliyeva attempted to burn herself to death yesterday evening in Dushanbe in front of institution, in which her cohabitant, a 38-year-old Mansour Safarzoda, works.
She reportedly attempted to commit suicide out of jealousy. Nigina came to the institution, which is located on the Nemat Qaraboyev street, yesterday evening and set herself on fire after pouring gasoline on her body. Fortunately, police officers managed to save her.
Nigina was hospitalized with various burn wounds and she is off the danger list now, the website says.
