Kazakhstan’s trade mission expected to visit Tajikistan next week

Date:

Kazakhstan’s trade mission will arrive in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe on September 19 for a three-day visit, according to the Almaty-based Kapital (Capital) business information center.

The main purpose of the visit is for the delegation to present Kazakhstan’s industrial potential and promote exports of Kazakh products.

A business forum and bilateral meetings of Tajik and Kazakh entrepreneurs will take place in Dushanbe on the sidelines of the mission’s visit.

While in Dushanbe, members of the Kazakh trade mission will also hold talks with senior representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of Tajikistan.

Recall that the members of the Kazakh trade mission that visited Tajikistan last year included representatives of 24 companies and enterprises.

Kazakhstan is Tajikistan third largest trading partner following the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China.

In January-June 2016, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan has valued at about 308 million U.S. dollars, which was nearly 11 percent less than in the same period last.  Over the report period, Tajikistan has supplied electricity, cotton fiber, primary aluminum, textiles, as well as fruits and vegetables.  Tajikistan’s imports from Kazakhstan over the same six-month period have reportedly included oil products, wheat and wheat flour, rolled metal products, etc.
