London has appreciated Dushanbe’s support for organizing travel of British journalists to Afghanistan.
During a meeting with the head of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament) Department on International Affairs, Public Associations and Information, Olimjon Salimzoda, the Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Michael Tatham, appreciated UK’s appreciation to Tajikistan for supporting organization of ravel of British journalists to Afghanistan.
In the course of the talks, the two reportedly discussed issues related assistance provided by the United Kingdom to Tajikistan in combating drug trafficking and expansion of cooperation between the two countries in implementing the Central Asia South Asia Electricity Transmission and Trade Project (CASA-1000) that will allow for the export of surplus hydroelectricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
