Tajik PM holds a number of bilateral meetings in Bishkek

Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda yesterday held a number of bilateral meetings in Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek on the sidelines of the 15th SCO prime ministers' meeting.

According to the Tajik PM Secretariat, Qohir Rasoulzoda and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China as well as the progress of implementation of agreements reached at the highest level between the two countries.   

Meanwhile, China’s news agency Xinhua reports that Premier Li said that China is willing to further strengthen cooperation with Tajikistan, especially in production capacity and within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. 

Noting that China and Tajikistan are friendly neighbors and cooperation partners, Li said Beijing is satisfied with the development of bilateral relations and cooperation.

China stands ready to strengthen mutual trust, expand cooperation and achieve common development with Tajikistan, Li added.

He reportedly spoke highly of bilateral production capacity cooperation in such areas as electricity, textile and machinery,and called on the two sides to expand cooperation to larger scales and more areas.

For his part,Rasoulzoda reportedly said cooperation with China has promoted the development and implementation of major projects in Tajikistan in sectors like transportation,energy,electricity, chemical engineering and textile.

Tajikistan is willing to work with China to realize continuous development of bilateral relations,Tajik PM added.

While in Bishkek, Rasoulzoda also held talks with Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and Mobashar Jawad Akbar, the Minister of State for External Affairs of India also a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha (India’s upper house of parliament) from Madhya Pradesh.

The meetings were reportedly focused on participation of the sides in implementation of regional projects in the areas of energy and transportation.  The sides also discussed cooperation in providing regional security, according to the Tajik PM Secretariat.
