The Ministry of transport of Tajikistan informs about the agreement with the Russian aviation authorities about the flights of Russian airlines to Dushanbe from “Zhukovsky” airport.

The Minister of transport of Tajikistan Sherali Ganjalzoda reported that Tajik side gave approved the flights of Russian airlines from the airport "Zhukovsky" to the capital of Tajikistan with a frequency of twice a week. "As the Russians wanted", – said the Minister.

"This was not a serious problem and we just didn't agree due to unresolved issue of passenger traffic and lack of road infrastructure in the area of the new airport, but they needed these two flights a week and we agreed on this issue by the aviation rules. In return they provided the opportunity for our airlines to operate additional flights to Saint Petersburg and Chelyabinsk", – said Ganjalzoda.

Earlier it was reported that Russia plans to stop flights to Tajikistan from November 8. On Friday, the delegation of the Ministry of transport of Tajikistan flew to Moscow for the negotiations.

Tajik side insisted to hold consultations in Dushanbe on November 24, but Russia approved the schedule of flights of Tajik air carriers only until November 8, Tajik side had nothing left to go to negotiations earlier.

On the 4th of November the Ministry of transport of Tajikistan issued an official statement about their stance on the issue of air links with Moscow. It was reported that Tajik side has no claims to the Russian airlines. However, the aeronautical authorities of the RT refused to accept planes from the new airport "Zhukovsky", as they consider it the airport of Moscow aviation hub.
