The body of women immured behind a wall in residential building has been found in Vahdat Township.

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, the 20-year-old resident of Vahdat found woman’s remains on July 11 while repairing a basement of residential building.

The 39-year-old resident of the Roziq jamoat was arrested on suspicion of committing that crime.

The preliminary investigation has reportedly established that a woman was immured behind a wall in that basement thirteen years ago.

The man reportedly killed his wife in November 2004 following family quarrel and immured her behind a wall in the basement in order to cover up the tracks of the crime.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against him under the provisions of Article 104 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – murder; investigation is under way.
