101 villages that sprang up in the Kulob region during the years of independence do not have access to electricity, Davlatnazar Kholov, the head of the Kulob power grid, told reporters in Kulob on July 18.
“These villages of 10 or 20 households each are located in five mountainous and remote districts of Shamsiddin-Shohin, Muminobod, Khovaling, Baljuvon and Temurmalik,” Kholov said, noting that they had not yet received money to provide those villages with electric power.
Residents of those villages have collected a certain amount of money but it is not enough to electrify the villages, the Kulob power gird head added.
