Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on July 18 signed a number of laws seconded by Tajikistan’s upper house (Majlisi Milli) of parliament.
He, in particular, signed the constitutional laws requiring amendments to the constitutional laws on the legal status of a member of the Majlisi Milli and a deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as amendments made to the country’s laws on internal (domestic) tourism and environmental impact assessment.
Recall, the Majlisi Namoyandagon considered and endorsed amendments proposed by the government to the RT Law “On the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan” on May 17, 2017.
The amendments, in particular, stipulate that members of the government and members of their families will be obligated to submit their yearly income declarations to the tax bodies.
Besides, the amendments stipulate that disciplinary and administrative action will be imposed on members of the government breaking their oath of allegiance to the president.
The environmental impact assessment law was adopted for the purpose of preventing and mitigating environmental impacts during the process of economic activities and it determines the procedure of assessment of environmental impacts and classification of the environmental impact assessment objects.
Internal or domestic tourism is tourism involving residents of one country traveling only within that country. The RT Law “On Domestic Tourism” determines organizational, legal, economic, social and cultural foundations of domestic tourism in Tajikistan and aims at providing conditions for development of it and relevant industries.
The law regulates the system of domestic tourism, government support, promotion of development of the sphere, powers of government bodies, rights and duties of service entities and tourists, international cooperation in this sphere and other its aspects.
