Tajik representatives depart for Tashkent to discuss the date and venue for Tajikistan’s exhibition

Date:

Chairman of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Mr. Sharif Said, heading Tajik delegation is departing for the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, today to discuss the exact date and venue for an exhibition of Tajikistan’s industrial goods scheduled for September this year, a source in the Tajik government told Asia-Plus Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, the work on organization of the first exhibition of Tajikistan’s industrial goods in Tashkent has already begun.

“Sixty-four enterprises will participate in the exhibition in Tashkent.  They will put on display their achievements in mechanical engineering, mining, light and food industries, and aluminum production, of course,” the Minister of Industry and New Technologies  of Tajikistan, Mr. Shavkat Bobozoda, told Asia-Plus in an interview on July 27.

According to him, the preference will be given to products of the food industry.

“We have experience in organizing and holding such exhibitions, and I think that the upcoming event will be held at the proper level,” the minister added.

An agreement on holding mutual industrial exhibition was reached between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan at the beginning of this year.

A major trade fair of Uzbekistan’s exports, including auto goods and food products, took place at the Poytakht-90 Center in Dushanbe from April 17 to 20.   There were more than 1,500 types of products from 160 Uzbek manufacturers at the exhibition, Asia-Plus reports.  It should be noted that such a large-scale event in the sphere of economic cooperation between the two nations was held for the first time in two decades.
