Over the next three years, Tajikistan plans to increase the volume of electricity exports by more than two times – to 3 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in 2020.
This is stated in the Forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2018-2020, approved by the decree of the Government of the Republic.
In 2018, it is projected to supply abroad more than 1.4 billion kWh of electricity for a total amount of $ 52.3 million. In 2019, the republic intends to increase the supply volume by just over 100 million kWh, For which it hopes to receive 55.4 million dollars. However, already in 2020, the volume of electricity exports is projected to increase to 3 billion kWh.
The total cost of electricity supplied to neighboring countries will increase to $ 120.5 million.
At the same time, the growth in the volume of electricity produced in the country in 2018-2020 is projected at 2.3 billion kWh. So, in 2018 domestic capacities are planned to generate 17667.4 billion kWh, in 2019 – 19970.9 billion kWh, and in 2020 – 19974.5 billion kWh of electricity.
Meanwhile, according to the forecast, the tariffs for electricity for the population for this period will be increased by 25.7%, from the current 14.65 dirams to 18.41 dirams per kWh. In particular, in 2018 the population will have to pay for electricity by 7.9% more, exactly the same number of tariffs will increase in 2019, and in 2020 intends to increase the price of electricity by 9.9%.
On average, electricity tariffs for all categories of consumers by 2020 are planned to increase by 33.3%.
