President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will visit China at the invitation of Chinese leader Xi Jinping from September 3 to 5, where he will take part in the BRICS summit. In addition to the summit and the meetings scheduled within it, the Tajik president is expected to agree with the head of the PRC on the allocation of a grant for the construction of parliamentary and government complexes
The BRICS summit (a group of five countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) will be held in the South China city of Xiamen. In its fields, several meetings between the leader of Tajikistan and his foreign colleagues are expected, the source in the government of the republic told "AP".
It is also expected that during the visit of Emomali Rahmon to the People's Republic of China, the issue will finally be solved of allocating a grant for the construction of new buildings of the Parliament and Government of Tajikistan.
On 23 August, the lower house of the Tajik parliament ratified the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation signed between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China signed on 1 May this year on the feasibility study of projects for the construction of new buildings of the Parliament and Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
As noted at the meeting of the parliament, on the ratification of the Memorandum by the Parliament, which in fact is only intent and not mandatory, the Chinese side insisted.
According to the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Nematullo Hikmatullozoda, according to the memorandum, China intends to allocate about 1.5 billion yuan (about 230 million dollars) for the construction of these facilities.
The future building of the parliamentary complex of Tajikistan will be built on the territory of more than 42 thousand square meters, the government building – on the territory of 44 thousand square meters.
According to the data voiced in the parliament, the Chinese side undertakes to send construction equipment, material, and specialists to Dushanbe, the Tajik side – to exempt from taxes and customs duties imported into the country materials and equipment, to prepare new building projects taking into account the opinion of Chinese experts, to allocate land for construction.
