All representatives of civil society, all those who are not indifferent to the fate of their country, should act so that the norms of the adopted law are not left on paper, said the Speaker of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloev.
Members of the upper house of the Tajik parliament today supported the amendments to the law "On the regulation of traditions, celebrations and ceremonies" adopted by the deputies of the lower house of the parliament of the republic on August 23, which was proposed by President Emomali Rahmon.
At the suggestion of the speaker in the decision of the Majlisi Milli on the adoption of the law it was added that the senators of Tajikistan should become an example for the citizens of the country in compliance with the law, they are obliged to explain the norms of law among the population.
According to the head of the Center for Islamic Studies under the President of the Republic, Fayzullo Barotzoda, over the centuries, the Tajik people mistakenly accepted many customs and traditions that were alien to them.
“As a recent example, we can say that in our recent history, our people have accepted holidays that are alien to us, such as the Christian New Year or the celebration of birthdays”, Barotzoda noted.
The law passed today including calls on the population to modestly celebrate Ramadan and Qurbon, not to allow squandering and excesses.
According to the norms of the law adopted today, individuals and legal entities are obliged to respect the basics of national culture, including the state language and national clothes and protect them from contemporary negative influences.
