Tajikistan’s external trade turnover estimated at more than 3.2 billion USD in Jan-Oct 2017

Over the first ten months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power, has amounted to 3.2276 billion U.S. dollars, which was 99.98 percent of the January-October 2017 level or 8 million U.S. dollars fewer, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The trade balance in January-October this year has been negative and amounted to 1.2237 billion U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods over the report period have reportedly amounted to 1.0019 billion U.S. dollars, which was 34.8 percent or 238.5 million USD more than in the same period last year.

Over the same ten-month period, imports of goods into the country have amounted to 2.2259 billion U.S. dollars, which was 10.7 percent or 266.5 million U.S. dollars less than in January-October 2016.

Compared to October 2016 Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover last month reportedly increased by 5.7 percent or 19.3 million U.S. dollars.  

Over the first ten months of this year, Tajikistan has had trade relations with 104 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

Over the report period, major Tajikistan exports partners were: Kazakhstan – 25.9 percent of the overall volume of Tajikistan’s exports; Turkey – 17.7 percent; Luxemburg – 12.4 percent; Afghanistan – 9.1 each; Switzerland – 8.9 percent; Uzbekistan – 4.6 percent; Taiwan – 4.4 percent; China – 2.8 percent; Russia and Iran – 2.1 percent each; etc.      

Over the same ten-month period, major Tajikistan imports partners were: Russia – 33.5 percent of the overall volume of Tajikistan’s imports; China – 19.9 percent; Kazakhstan – 18.6 percent; Turkey – 3.8 percent; Germany – 3.4 percent; Uzbekistan – 2.5 percent; Iran – 2.3 percent; etc.       

The bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Russia over the report period has valued at more than 765 million U.S. dollars (18-percent decrease compared to January-October 2016) and the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and China in January-October this year has valued at little more than 471 million U.S. dollars (nearly 40-percent decrease compared to the same period last year).

Meanwhile, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan over the first ten  months of this year has amounted to some 673 million U.S. dollars, which is nearly 30 percent more than in the same period last year.
