The emulsion explosives plant expected to be built in the Danghara district of the Khatlon province in the coming two years.
Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament today endorsed the bill on ratification of an investment agreement signed between the Government of Tajikistan and KM-Muosir Ltd on construction of the emulsion explosives plant in Danghara. The agreement was signed in June this year.
Presenting the bill to lawmakers, the first deputy head of the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvwest), Abdulmajid Muinzoda, said the plant would be built due to domestic and Chinese investments. A total cost of the project is 20 million U.S. dollars.
According to him, Tajikistan will own 49 percent of the shares and the Chinese side will assume the 51% ownership interest in the plant.
The plant that will create 150-200 new jobs is expected to produce up to 20,000 tons of emulsion explosives per year.
During the first five years of operation the plant will be exempted from paying income tax, Tajik official said.
