Uzbek premier expected to pay working visit to Tajikistan this week

Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov is expected to pay a two-day working visit to Tajikistan from January 10-11, a reliable source in the Tajik government told Asia-Plus today morning. 

While in Dushanbe, Aripov will hold talks with President Emomali Rahmon and his Tajik counterpart Qohir Rasoulzoda.  

During the meetings with the high-ranking Tajik state officials, Uzbek premier will discuss preparations for an official visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan, which is expected to take place in the spring this year, the source said.  

Besides, issues related to expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and acceleration of demarcation and delimitation of disputed stretches the mutual border will also be discussed during Uzbek premier’s visit to Dushanbe the source added.
