An operation carried out by officers of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) in Dushanbe has led to the seizure of 14 kilograms of Afghan hashish, according to the SCNS press center.
Twelve people have reportedly been arrested on suspicion of being involved in drug trafficking. Among them are five residents of Dushanbe, including Tojiddin Khabirov, 33, Dilovar Sherov, 29, Nasijon Rajabov, 33, Firdavs Zevarshoyev, 39, and Halim Ahmadbekov, 53.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the alleged drug smugglers under the provisions of Article 200 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – large-scale drug trafficking; an investigation is under way.
