Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament (Majlisi Oli) has endorsed a loan agreement for co-financing the Kulob-Qalai Khumb road rehabilitation project.

A regular sitting of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, presided over by its head, Shukurjon Zuhurov, took place on May 16.

This loan agreement for 25.5 million U.S. dollars was signed in March this year between the Government of Tajikistan represented by the Ministry of Finance and the Government of Kuwait represented by Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) to provide financial support for implementation the Kulob-Qalai Khumb road rehabilitation project (sections “A” and “F”).

The amount of this loan is reportedly allocated for co-financing rehabilitation of the Kulob-Shouroobod and Shkev-Qalai Khumb sections of the Kulob-Qalai Khumb highway.
