Barqi Tojik power holding (a national integrated power company of Tajikistan) proposes to raise electricity prices by 15 percent.  If the government approves the new electricity rates, the price of one kWh of electricity for residential customers will be 19.37 dirams.

The first deputy head of the Antimonopoly Agency under the Government of Tajikistan, Nazar Odinazoda, says Barqi Tojik has proposed to raise prices for electricity and thermal power by 15 percent.

According to him, a working group has been set up to analyze the Barqi Tojik’s proposal.  “An explanatory memorandum has been prepared on the basis of that analysis and submitted for consideration to the government,” Odinazoda said, noting that the final decision on that issue will be made by the government.
