Public sector wages, pensions and allowances will be raised by 15 percent beginning on September 1, the Minister of Finance, Fayziddin Qahhorov, told reporters in Dushanbe on August 3.

“Current base wage rates of the staff of institutions and organizations, which are funded from the state budget, as well as pensions and allowances (scholarships) for students will be raised by 15 percent from September 1 this year,” the minister said.

Wages for special military ranks, servicemen and the staff of the power-wielding agencies are to be raised by 10 percent, according to Qahhorov.

“The budget has enough funds for this purpose,” the minister added.
