A Tajik-Turkish joint venture to assembly buses and trucks is expected to be launched in Dushanbe next year. Besides, service centers for these buses and trucks will open in the Tajik capital.
An agreement on this subject was signed between Tajikistan’s Avesto Group and Turkey’s ULASIM IC VE DIS TICARET ANONIM SIRKETI in Dushanbe at the end of the last week, according to the State Committee on Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest).
Under this agreement, the enterprise will begin operations next year service centers for these buses and trucks will open in the Tajik capital in the future.
The enterprise that will be launched on the basis of limited liability companies Akia Avesto Automotive Industry and City Service Ltd will have annual capacity of 250-300 vehicles, an official source at GosKomInvest told Asia-Plus in an interview.
Recall, a joint Tajik-Turkish plant to assemble Turkish buses Akia, AKIA AVESTO, was officially introduced into operation in Dushanbe on February 14, 2018.
The AKIA AVESTO plant that was built in Dushanbe’s Gulbuta area operates on the basis of a cooperation agreement signed between the State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) “Nasbi Naqliyoti Barqi va Ducharkha” (Tajikistan) and Turkey’s Akia Company. All necessary technologies and equipment for implementation of this project have been delivered to the country from Turkey. The plant reportedly has an annual capacity of 250-300 vehicles.
Akia is one of the preferred auto-bus brands in Turkey and Europe with its large product range. Akia’s production facilities in Kestel Organized Industrial Zone has an annual production capacity of 600 vehicles. Akia produces LF9-LF11-LF12 models in Euro 5 and Euro 6 standards with Diesel, CNG and Electrical options.
