The agreement on the provision of funds for the construction of new complexes of the government and parliament of Tajikistan was signed by the governments of the two countries on September 1 last year during the state visit of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to Beijing.

Later, at the beginning of this year, there were rumors that China refused to provide this assistance however official authorities did not confirm the rumors.

According to the signed document, China allocates 1.5 billion Yuan (about $ 220 million) for the construction of these facilities free of charge.

The parliamentary complex, which is planned to be built in the central part of Dushanbe, will consist of four-storey buildings.
