Tajikistan ranked third among former Soviet republics in terms of rise in consumer prices

The Belarusian Private News Agency (BelaPAN) reports that Tajikistan is in the third place among the former Soviet republics in terms of rise in consumer prices.  The report is based on data from the national agencies for statistics.

Over the first ten months of this year, consumer prices in Tajikistan has reportedly risen 4.5 percent.

According to BelaPAN, Uzbekistan tops the former Soviet republics in terms of rise in consumer prices (9.5 percent increase in January-October this year).  Uzbekistan is followed by Ukraine (7.4 percent increase over the same ten-month period).

Over the report period, consumer prices in Belarus have reportedly risen 4.24 percent, Estonia – 4.1 percent, Kazakhstan – 3.7 percent, Latvia – 3.1 percent, Russia – 2.9 percent, Lithuania – 2.7 percent, Georgia – 0.4 percent, and Azerbaijan – 0.2 percent.  

In Moldova, consume prices have not changed over the same ten-month period, while in Armenia and Kazakhstan they have reportedly fallen 9.7 and 0.9 percent respectively.  

In October, consume prices in Tajikistan reportedly increased by 0.7 percent, Belarus and Estonia  – 0.51 percent, Ukraine – 1.7 percent, Uzbekistan – 1.3 percent, Latvia – 0.7 percent, Lithuania – -.6 percent, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Russia – 0.4 percent, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan – 0.3 percent, Azerbaijan – 0.2 percent, and Armenia – 0.1 percent.
