Tajikistan and Uzbekistan expected to launch joint tractor-assembling venture

Date:

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Ergash Shoismatov has met with a group of Tajik entrepreneurs to discuss prospects of bilateral economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

The sides, in particular, discussed issues related to launching joint ventures, according to Orien Invest.

Thus, Tajik and Uzbek entrepreneurs have launched a joint venture on assembling coal-mining machines and transporting cargo.

Last week, Tajikistan’s Orien Invest and Uzbekistan’s Joint-Stock Company (JSC) Uzagrotekhsanoatkholding (Agro-Industrial Holding) launched a joint venture Orien Uzagro that will assemble agricultural machines in Tajikistan.

During a meeting that took here in mid-February, representatives of Orien Invest and Uzagrotekhsanoatkholding reportedly reached an agreement to begin constructing the enterprise in Dushanbe’s suburb in the near future.

Further prospects of expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were also discussed at a meeting of top managers of Orien Invest with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Ergash Shoismatov that took place in Dushanbe on February 15.
