Prices for goods and service last month rose on average 0.6 percent, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Last month, prices set by producers of food products reportedly increased by 1.2 percent. The increase in cost of products of the food industry was reportedly caused by 4.6 percent rise in prices for wheat flour, vegetables – 3.7 percent, fruits – 1.3 percent, macaroni – 1.2 percent; rice – 0.5 percent, and meat – 0.4 percent.
Meanwhile, the following food products get cheaper last month: cooking (cotton) oil – by 2.0 percent; potatoes – by 1.3 percent; eggs – by 1.2 percent; and fishes – by 0.7 percent.
Prices and rates for services rendered to the population during last month increased by 0.2 percent. The ones that increased most significantly were: water supply – 3.0 percent; air tickets – 14.8 percent; passenger transport services – 2.3 percent; services rendered by the preschool institutions – 1.8 percent.
At the same time, housing services get cheaper by 1.6 percent in January.
During last month, prices for non-foodstuffs reportedly fell 0.1 percent with the prices falling most significantly for the following: gasoline – 5.0 percent; diesel fuel – 3.8 percent; and natural liquefied gas (NLG) – 9.7 percent. .
Meanwhile, prices for the following non-foodstuffs increased during last month: household textiles – by 2.5 percent; shoes – by 1.4 percent; building materials and furniture – by 0.7 percent each; and home appliances – by 0.7 percent.
