Tajik authorities plan to increase taxes and non-tax receipts (non-tax receipts are government revenue not generated from taxes) annually on average by 10 percent during 2019-2021, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
An official source at a MoF says that this year’s taxes and non-tax receipts to the country’s budget are expected to amount to 17.5 billion somoni, which is 1.7 billion somoni or 11 percent more than last year.
In 2020, taxes and non-tax receipts are expected to increase by 1.8 billion somoni or 10.6 percent compared to this year.
In 2021, taxes and non-tax receipts are projected to reach 21.2 percent (1.9 billion somoni or 9.7 percent increase compared to 2020), the source added.
Taxes and non-tax receipts reportedly account for some 95 percent of the national budget revenues.
