The Committee on Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of Tajikistan warns about the risk of floods, mudslides and landslides in mountain areas.
According to the Hydrometeorology Agency (Hydromet), rainy weather will last in the country until the end of this week and torrential rains are expected in mountain areas.
Heavy precipitation in mountain areas can cause the water level in rivers to rise, and therefore, the risk of floods, mudslides and landslides in mountain areas is high, Umeda Yusufi, a spokeswoman for the Emergencies Committee, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
