President Emomali Rahmon yesterday reprimanded top managers of the Customs Service and the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).

Thus, NBT head Jamshed Nourmahmadzoda and his deputies Jamoliddin Nouraliyev, Homidullo Mashrabzoda and Lola Salimova were reprimanded for improper performance of their duties.

Two deputy chairpersons of the Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan — Lola Safarzoda and Poulodjon Yusufi – were dismissed “in connection with transfer to another job.”

Recall, the head of state has sharply criticized the country’s customs, tax and financial bodies for country’s banking system for shortcomings in their works.

President’s criticism, directed at them, came during an address to a meeting of senior representative of the country’s fiscal agencies (Custom Service and Tax Committee) and banks that took place in Dushanbe on May 10.

During the meeting, Rahmon sharply criticized the chief of the Dushane-1 Customs Terminal, Shahboz Rajabzoda.

The meeting was broadcast by Tajik national TV channels.  Addressing the meeting, Rahmon, in particular, noted that Rajabzoda did not have the higher education because he had been expelled from university because of academic underachievement.

“Wherever you worked you were fired from everywhere and I do not know how the Customs Services hired you,” said the president.

Rahmon ordered Rajabzoda to write a letter of resignation and reimburse money he transferred abroad.  “I take into consideration your youth; otherwise, you would be jailed for at least 15 years,” the president said.

Rahmon ordered Rajabzoda to write a letter of resignation and reimburse money he transferred abroad.

“No one instruction will be left unimplemented,” Rahmon stated.
