Tajikistan’s external trade turnover estimated at more than 1.3 billion dollars in January-April 2019

Over the first four months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan has amounted to more than 1.3 billion U.S. dollars, which was 103.1 percent of the January-April 2018 level or nearly 40 million U.S. dollars more, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The trade balance over the report period was negative and amounted to 695 million U.S. dollars.

In January-April, exports of goods reportedly have amounted to some 320 million U.S. dollars, which was 3.6 percent or nearly 12 million U.S. dollars fewer than in the same period last year. 

Over the same period, imports of goods into the country have amounted to 1.015 billion U.S. dollars, which was 5.3 percent or more than 51 million U.S. dollars more than in January-April last year. 

In January-April, Tajikistan reportedly had trade relations with 97 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

Over the same four-month period, the major trading partners of Tajikistan were Russia (the two-way trade between Tajikistan and Russia valued at 332 million US dollars over the report period), Kazakhstan (277 million U.S. dollars) and China (180 million U.S. dollars).
