Date:

China’s company will invest in construction of metallurgical plant in Tajikistan.  An appropriate memorandum of understanding on cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT) of Tajikistan and China’s Resource Company Tibet-Everest LTD (founder of Tajik-Sino Mining Company).

The MoINT press center says that after the launch of the metallurgical plant into operation Tajik-Sino Mining Company will increase extraction and processing of ores 2.4 times – from current 2.5 million tons to 6 million tons per year.

The Chinese company reportedly intends to invest 30 million U.S. dollars in construction of this metallurgical plant.

Tajik-Sino Mining Company with an authorized capital of 30 million U.S. dollars was established in 2006 following privatization of the Altyn-Topkan Mining Company by Chinese global company on export-import of new technologies.  It is located in the settlement of Zarnisor, which is administratively subordinate to the city of Guliston (formerly Qairoqqum), Sughd province.  The company was granted licenses for development of the lead and zinc deposits Altyn-Topkan and Pay-Buloq.  In 2011, Tajik-Sino Mining Company was granted license for development of the Northern Zarnisor deposit in the Mastchoh district.  The deposit contains zinc and lead.
