A military recruitment officer from Dushanbe’s Sino district has been sentenced to pay a fine of TJS 20,000 for fraud.

An officer with the military registration and enlistment office in Dushanbe’s Sino district, Isfandiyor Nourkhonov, has taken a 3,000 somoni (TJS) bribe from a conscript promising to exempt him from military service, an official source at the Dushanbe military court told Asia-Plus in an interview.

But when the conscript was undergoing medical examination at the Dushanbe military recruitment office, it turned out that he is not fit for military service for health reasons.

The conscript has applied to the law enforcement authorities and in a ruling handed down by the Dushanbe military court Nourkhonov has been sentenced to pay a 20,000 somoni fine for fraud, the source said.
