Tajik President Emomali Rahmon yesterday met here with visiting Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin, who arrived in Dushanbe Thursday on a two-day official visit.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Emomali Rahmon noted that high-level meetings promote further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Kazakh Prime Minister reportedly expressed gratitude to the Tajik leader for warm welcome and assessed the results of his official trip to Tajikistan as successful.

The two sides expressed satisfaction with a growing bilateral trade between their countries and underlined the importance of full use of existing opportunities to promote the further development of the two-way trade between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.

In the course of the talks, Rahmon and Mamin, in particular, discussed issues related to attraction of direct investments in Tajikistan’s economy, development of activities of the Working Council and efficient use of bilateral meetings and negotiations for implementation of the intended plans, said the Tajik president’s website.

They also discussed constructive ideas regarding use of Kazakhstan’s highways, railways and sea ports for carrying Tajik goods to the third country and establishment of joint ventures on manufacturing wheat flour and bakery products in Tajikistan
