Several farmlands and roads have been damaged by mudslides in the Sangvor district (formerly Tavildara district in Rasht Valley).

According to the Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan, mudslides that occurred in the Sangvor district today damaged several farmlands and roads.

“Fortunately, the mudslide did not cause injury or death,” Ms. Umeda Yusufi, a spokeswoman for the Emergencies Committee, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to her, a commission of the Emergencies Committee led by the first deputy head of the Committee Rustam Shohiyon is currently in the region to closely monitor the situation.

“All necessary machines and equipment have been delivered to the mudslide sites,” Yusufi said.
