DUSHANBE, August 1, 2019, Asia-Plus – A constituent assembly of the Uzbekistan-Tajikistan Friendship Society has been held in Tashkent.
The meeting participants included representatives of Uzbekistan Cabinet and activists of Tajik Diasporas I Uzbekistan.
The Minister of Water Resource of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Hamrayev, has been elected to head this Friendship Society, an official source at the Uzbek Embassy in Dushanbe told Asia-Plus in an interview.
The meeting participants reportedly pointed to the necessity of strengthening relationships between the two countries through public diplomacy, developing joint projects in the field of culture, education and science.
