An employee of the Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions has been arrested on suspicion of embezzling large amount of state funds.
According to the press center of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, Ms. Maisara Rasoulova, an official with the Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions’ office in Dushanbe’s Sino district, has been detained on suspicion of forging documents and embezzling state funds.
During the period from 2017 to 2019, she reportedly embezzled more than 333,500 somoni by falsifying payment orders in the name of five citizens.
The anticorruption agency says criminal proceedings have instituted against her under the provisions of two articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code: Article 245 (4) – embezzlement or misappropriation; and Article 240 (2) – document forgery. An investigation is under way.
