Tajikistan reaches more than 74 percent of this year’s cotton target by October 28

Tajik cotton growers are taking measures to gather cotton on time and fulfill the national target, which has been determined at 400,000 tons.

According to the Crop Production Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture, cotton growers in Khatlon province have yielded more than 200,000 tons of raw cotton by October 28, which is more than 75 percent of the target, which has been determined at 275,200 tons.

Cotton growing districts in the northern Sughd province have reportedly reached 73 percent of their target by October 28.

The republic has yielded 330,500 tons of cotton by October 28, which comprises more than 74 percent of this year's target.

This, Tajik farmers have planted cotton on 185,670 hectares.

Last year, Tajik cotton-growing districts yielded more than 300,000 of raw cotton.
