Tajikistan’s 2020 budget’s revenues projected to stand at 26.1 billion somoni, says president

The government has endorsed the draft national budget for 2020.  The deficit of the 2020 budget will be close to 350 million somoni.

A government session, which was held by President Emomali Rahmon yesterday, discussed the country’s draft law on the national budget for 2020, according to Tajik president’s official website.  

The session participants also discussed projected figures of the national budget for 2021-2022 and reviewed the outcomes of development of the country’s economy over the first nine months of this year.  

Speaking at the session, the head of state noted that the 2020 budget’s revenues are projected to stand at 26.1 billion somoni and its expenditures are projected to sand at 26.4 somoni.

The budget deficit in expected to amount to 349.5 million somoni or 0.4 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).

Rahmon said the budget indicators reflect the economic and social development of the country.  According to him, social spending will account for 44.4 percent (11.7 billion somoni) of budget allocations.

Revenues of the national budget for 2021 are projected to be 28.6 billon somoni and revenues of the national budget for 2022 are projected to stand at 31 billion somoni, while expenditures are projected to be 29.1 billion somoni and 31.5 billion somoni respectively.

Finance Minister Faiziddin Qahhorzoda reported on a draft program of state borrowings for 2020 and projected figures for 2021-2022.   .

He emphasized the need of attracting external loans and ensure effective use of these funds, Tajik president’s press service said.
