Twenty young people detained in Dushanbe for cold steel possession

In two days alone, a police operation, dubbed “Knife”, has led to the detention of twenty young people in Dushanbe for possession of cold steel (offensive weapon).  Among them are mainly students and senior school students. They are charged with storage and possession of an offensive weapon.  

The “Knife” Operation has been carried out by the Dushanbe Police Directorate for the purpose of confiscating cold steel, electric shockers, brass-knuckles and bats from the population, especial youth, the Dushanbe police press center says.  

Over the past two days, 16 knives, one axe, one brass-knuckle and one robber truncheon have reportedly been confiscated from youth.  

Among the detainees are two school students, one young woman and students, the Dushanbe police press center says.
