Foodstuffs have reportedly risen in cost 9.2 percent in January-October this year

Over the first ten months of this year, the cost of products of the food industry has reportedly increased by 9.2 percent, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan. 

The increase in cost of products of the food industry has reportedly been caused by a 21.1 percent rise in prices for meats, bread products – 17.2 percent, vegetables – 11.3 percent, and milk and dairy products – 3.5 percent.   

Non-foodstuffs have risen in cost 3.1 percent over the same ten-month period with the prices increasing most significantly for the following goods: pharmaceutical products – 12.3 percent; home appliances – 6.9 percent; building bricks – 5.8 percent; and asbestos cement slates – 4.0 percent. 

Prices and rates for services rendered to the population in January-October this year have reportedly increased by 4.4 percent.  The ones that increased most significantly were: payment for tickets for air travel – 6.3 percent; tariffs for domestic services – 3.6 percent; and public transportation services – 2.9 percent.
