Spitamen Bank has become leader in realizing of cards and in increasing the volume of external transactions.

UnionPay International Director for Central Asia Zhang Cheng Dong (phonetically spelled) remarked this while addressing the annual meeting of the UnionPay International Eurasia Regional Member Council that was held in Minsk recently.  

Spitamen Bank has participated in this event for the second time.  

“Amazing progress and positive dynamics have been observed in Spitamen Bank’s activity on realizing of cards and in increasing the volume of external transactions being carried out through the international payment system UnionPay,” Mr. Zhang noted.  

He also asked specialists of the Spitamen Bank to share their experience with colleagues from other twenty countries participating in the work of the Council.

Representatives of Russia, Ukraine, Japan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and some other countries have participated in the meeting in Minsk.  

The meeting participants have discussed rules of doing business and introducing new services with use of advanced technologies, including wireless payments and QR standards. 

Belarusian media reports say the 1st meeting of the Second Term UnionPay International Eurasia Regional Member Council was held in Minsk on October 29, 2019 hosting top-management representatives of UnionPay International and its 17 member banks from the Eurasian region.

Trends of global cashless payments development and business-synergies between the markets of Eurasia were highlighted during the meeting as well as approaches to customization of card products, special offers and partner programs with consideration to region-specific features and their application, potential for acceleration of UnionPay business development in the region and strengthening cooperation with banking institutions.

Spitamen Bank, with headquarters in Dushanbe, now has sixteen branches across the country, including five located in Dushanbe.

Spitamen Bank started its Microcredit Deposit Organization in the country as Spitamen Capital in 2008 leading to a banking license from the National Bank of Tajikistan by 2014.  The company holds the license for banking operations in both local and foreign currency.

In 2013, the Closed Joint Stock Microcredit Deposit Organization 'Spitamen Capital' was named the winner of the BID International Arch of Europe Award; an award presented to organizations focusing on a high standard of quality.

Currently, Spitamen Bank is considered one of the most active and technology-driven banks in the country.
