Dushanbe mayor pays working visit to Tashkent to discuss cooperation

Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali today morning left for the Uzbek capital of Tashkent on a two-day working visit.  It is the first foreign visit Rustam Emomali pays as mayor of the Tajik capital.

While in Tashkent, Rustam Emomali will hold talks with Tashkent Mayor Jahongir Artykkhojayev to discuss the process of implementation of an agreement signed between Dushanbe and Tashkent administrations during Uzbek president’s state visit to Tajikistan in March last year, a source within the Dushanbe administration told Asia-Plus in an interview..  

According to him, Rustam Emomali and Jahongir Artykkhojayev will discuss issues related to economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Dushanbe and Tashkent.  

The mayors are expected to approve the program of cooperation between the two capitals for 2020, the source added.

By president’s decree Rustam Emomali was appointed Mayor of Dushanbe in January 2017.
