Government proposes to reduce the rate of VAT for private clinics, increases fines for illegal entrepreneurship

President Emomali Rahmon has sent the draft amendments proposed by the government to the country’s tax code for consideration to the parliament.

The head of state, in particular, proposes to reduce the rate of the value added tax (VAT) for private clinics from 18 percent to 5 percent, a source within the lower chamber of (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament (Majlisi Oli) told Asia-Plus in an interview.   

Besides, the government has sent the draft amendments proposed to the country’s administrative code for consideration to the Majlisi Namoyandagon.    

The proposed amendments, in particular, provide for an increase in the amount of fines for illegal entrepreneurship from the current 1,740 somoni to 5,800 somoni.
