Tajikistan calls on Armenia and Azerbaijan to stop hostilities

Asia-Plus

The Republic of Tajikistan is extremely concerned about the military clash between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, said in a statement by the country's Foreign Ministry.

«We urge the parties to take urgent action to end hostilities. We believe that the solution to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh is possible only by political and diplomatic methods», – said in the appeal.

It notes that Tajikistan emphasizes the exceptional importance of a peaceful solution to existing contradictions within the framework of generally recognized international norms.

Early on Sunday morning, September 27, battles began again on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Armenia and Azerbaijan accused of violating the truce of each other.

Press Secretary of the President of the unrecognized republic Vahram Poghosyan told about the shelling of the city of Stepanakert and other settlements of Nagorno-Karabakh from the Grad multiple launch rocket systems by Azerbaijan on his Facebook page. Baku announced large-scale shelling of settlements from Armenia along the border
